Hi Sarah,

Your October accounts are attached and everything is reconciled with your Xero data as of yesterday. A strong month overall — here is what matters.

The good news first: revenue hit £90,600 for the month, up 7.9% on September and ahead of your November budget at this rate. The price increases you put through on the beverage and snack lines in mid-October have clearly landed well — those two categories are now your strongest margin performers.

The thing I want to flag this week is the cash position in Week 4 (22–28 November). You have a large supplier payment of £8,200 to Supplier B landing on the same week as your Q3 VAT payment (£6,840) and November payroll (£3,200). That puts your closing balance at £11,400 for that week — below the £15,000 minimum we agreed. Not a crisis, but tighter than I am comfortable with.

My suggestion: call Supplier B on Monday and ask for 14-day extended terms on the November invoice. Given your payment history with them this should be straightforward. That shifts £8,200 into Week 6 where cash is comfortable at £22,000. I have drafted the email to them if you want me to send it on your behalf — just say the word.

On the gross margin front: 38.1% is better than September (37.3%) which is encouraging, but we are still 1.9 points below the 40% target. The household goods category continues to be the drag — I will include a product-level margin breakdown in this month's pack. The supplier conversation on that front is a separate one worth having in December when you renew contracts.

One more thing before year end: you have not made any pension contributions this financial year. A £4,000 employer pension contribution before 31 March reduces your corporation tax bill by £760. I will send you a separate note on this next week with the paperwork to action it.
